How do I turn on Htaccess for sh404SEF or another SEF?

Htaccess is included in Joomla and should be used for security and url rewriting. To enable htaccess for sh404sef or any other Search Engine Friendly url system find the htaccess.txt file in your Joomla root and rename it .htaccess (notice "dot" htaccess, very important!).
Some systems will not allow you to create a file with a dot beginning because essentially you are creating a file without a name just a mime type of htaccess. Windows can have issue with this. One hack is to open this htaccess.txt file in notepad and then save as .htaccess. Notepad is such a simple system that it doesn't bother to check what you did.
