What is a CDN?
Answer
A CDN is a Content Delivery Network. CDN's host files like images, pdf, docs, and other static pages. They don't host executables like PHP, you'll need a standard web host for PHP. They also don't host Databases like MySQL.
CDN's are used for sites that host a lot of traffic. They offset server load by becoming a download partner for common files, so your visitors are downloading from two locations, your hosting server and your CDN. A CDN can handle an infinate amount of traffic. Kilobyte for Kilobyte a CDN is much more inexpensive than a web host for serving files.
CDN's will speed up your page load times immensely but requires an expert to manage.
