What Are Joomla Modules and Module Positions?
Answer
Joomla consists of components, modules, plug-ins, and templates. Modules are the small area blocks that surround the component. While you can only have one component on a page you can have multiple modules. You place modules in module positions. Module positions are encoded into the Joomla template. The Joomla administrator controls modules through the module manager.
